Teachta Dála

This section lists every sitting TD and the amount each has claimed under the Parliamentary Standard Allowance (PSA) since 2019. The PSA consists of two components: the Travel and Accommodation Allowance (TAA) and the Public Representation Allowance (PRA).

TAA is an unvouched payment based on the distance from a TD’s home to Leinster House, calculated “by the shortest practicable route.” For TDs, it ranges from €9,000 to €34,065 annually.

PRA is a vouched reimbursement scheme for costs incurred in the course of “work as public representatives.” According to the Houses of the Oireachtas guidelines, its scope is “extremely broad” and “should largely be a matter for judgement of individual Members as to whether items of expenditure incurred fall legitimately within one of the categories.”

Data covers claims made from 2019 to 2023. Finalised PRA figures for 2024 are not yet available.

These figures do not include all expenses available to TDs. Additional entitlements - such as secretarial allowances, committee payments, party whip supplements, or ministerial top-ups - are either excluded or not reported on an individual basis. As such, the amounts shown here represent an undercounting of what each TD has received in allowances, expenses, and additional payments.
