Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Bill 2021
This bill committed Ireland to achieving a climate neutral economy by 2050, creating a legally binding framework with targets and commitments set in law. In 2021 the IMF estimated that hitting the emission reduction target outlined in this bill would cost Ireland approximately €180 billion between 2021 and 2030.
